How to break in brake discs after installation?

Avoid sudden braking for the first 300-500 km. Make 5 gentle braking actions from 50 km/h to zero to allow the brake pads and discs to adjust perfectly. For the first two or three days after replacing the pads and discs, the wheels may heat up slightly more. When replacing brake discs, we encourage you to generally check the technical condition of the steering system, vehicle suspension and tires. Uneven wear of individual elements and any clarence in them may affect the life of the brake discs and the comfort of their use.

Which pads for ROTINGER brake discs?

We recommend using Rotinger brake pads for our discs, whose friction properties are ideal for both standard discs and the Tuning series (slotted and drilled brake discs).

Does the installation of slotted and drilled tuning series brake discs require any modifications to the car?

No, slotted and drilled tuning series brake discs are fully compatible with standard discs and their installation does not require any modifications to the braking system.

Does the direction of installation of slotted and drilled Tuning series discs matter?

Yes. Brake discs with directional perforation should be installed in accordance with the description on the packaging or the attached instructions.

Should GL discs be degreased before installation?

No, Graphite Line series brake discs (with galvanic coating anti-corrosion) do not require cleaning with a degreaser - its use is prohibited and may damage the protective coating filter. Any liquid residues left after the impregnation process on the surface of the brake disc should be removed with a cloth.

What is the warranty period for ROTINGER brake discs and pads?

All Rotinger products are covered by a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.

Where do Rotinger brake pads come from?

ROTINGER brake pads are produced by ROLUNDS BRAKING, a leading global manufacturer of high-quality friction materials for the automotive industry. A number of rigorous tests carried out on test tracks in Europe by the manufacturer guarantee ROTINGER pads the highest braking efficiency while maintaining a long service life.

Does the warranty cover the GL coating?

All brake discs are made of cast iron, a material susceptible to corrosion. The Graphite Line protective coating, like other disc protections, does not completely eliminate the corrosion process, but it significantly slows down the process (the installation must be in accordance with the instructions contained in the manual), therefore the GL coating itself is excluded from the general warranty conditions.

Modified braking systems – are the discs used in them covered by warranty?

The warranty does not cover products used in vehicles with modified braking systems.

How quickly are orders processed and how long does it take to ship?

We process and ship all orders within 24 hours from placing the order or confirming the compliance of the purchase by an employee of our customer service center.

Are drilled and slotted tuning series discs noisier than standard discs?

It all depends on the operation of the entire braking system, the pads used as well as the selected tuning pattern. There are cases of louder operation of the discs in the final phase of heavy braking from higher speeds, but in standard use the louder operation of the discs is practically unnoticeable.

Do the pads wear out faster with tuning series discs?

It depends on many factors, such as driving style, operation of the braking system and, above all, on the friction mixture used. Basically, for an average car user, the wear of pads with tuning series discs will not differ much from that with standard discs.

I'm not sure which products will be suitable for my car - where can I seek advice?

Our hotline is open Mon-Fri from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and our advisors have the knowledge and software to select parts according to the car's VIN number, which minimizes the possibility of making a mistake when selecting parts.

Can copper grease or other protective measures be used during installation?

Definitely NO, using copper paste or other protective agents on hub surface is not permitted and may result in axial runout the disc during its operation.

What are the benefits of slotting/drilling brake discs?

Each brake disc operates in specific temperature ranges, so it is important not to overheat it. Slotted and drilled brake discs of the tuning series mean faster cooling, more effective removal of dirt and gases and shortened braking distances.

Do Rotinger brake discs remain graphite throughout their entire service life?

The GL coating protects all product surfaces (external and internal), thus extending the life of the disc. The anti-corrosion coating wears off only on the working surface of the disc where the brake pads work.

Should drilled brake discs from the tuning series be taken care of in any special way?

When using drilled brake discs, periodically check whether all holes are clear and whether pad dust has not accumulated in them. Clogged holes may result in poorer heat dissipation and spot overheating of the discs, which may result in their damage, so it is worth checking their condition and, if necessary, cleaning the holes with compressed air.

What does the HP symbol assigned to part of the Rotinger range mean?

The HP designation is an abbreviation for the HIGH PERFORMANCE series of products, i.e. discs with an increased carbon content in the casting. Thanks to this solution, the discs guarantee better heat dissipation, lower temperature fluctuations and, as a result, less susceptibility to thermal deformation.
